When we accept Christ as our savior, it's not the end of a process, it's the beginning of one. There are no short cuts to maturity in Christ, just as there aren't short cuts to developing any relationship, and that at it's heart what Christianity is all about, a relationship with Jesus Christ. Jesus was a teacher during His ministry on Earth, and the Holy Spirit will teach us and lead us to growth spiritually. If we mess up, remember it can be a learning experience, not a failure. God will walk with us through the highs and lows, shaping us toward modeling Christ, the personification of perfection.
