When Michelle Green looked down at Mike Hammond as she was performing CPR, she hoped and prayed her efforts were helping.
“I said his color is coming back, so we must be doing something right,” she recalled.
Moments earlier, Michelle saw Mike lying underneath his tow truck and a car in the town square parking lot, which wasn’t unusual because of the situation – she was there to move the SarahCare bus and he was an Allen’s tow truck driver hooking up another car that needed to be moved to make way for the Sunday morning farmers’ market.
“Nothing looked out of order, but as I came around the side of the truck and looked down I saw his face was blue,” she recalled.
As they reflect back on the events of Sept. 12, the trio agrees – Michelle was put there by God to help Mike, who had suffered a massive cardiac arrest and needed immediate attention. When he talks about her, he often uses the word “angel.”
