Encouraging Stories-Losing his sight, helped him see the light

When John Clegg describes himself before Jesus Christ entered his life, he doesn't try to sugar-coat the facts.

Drug addict. Drunkard. Whoremonger.  

"I was basically a 30-year-old pagan," said the pastor of Southside Church of God, to add yet another description of himself. "I used to smoke pot like you breathe air. I had a need for weed."  

As he spoke, he was seated behind the desk in his stark office, the wall at his back adorned with a plain wooden cross that he has never seen, having lost his sight in adulthood to a genetic condition.

Yet, he says it was losing his sight that, figuratively, at least, helped him see the light.
