Encouraging Scripture-No one can boast

Don't you love when someone you know takes the time to tell you how great they are?  Isn't it fun to listen to someone rattle off their accomplishments when you both know they dwarf yours?  It isn't, is it?  Guess what else is isn't--scriptural.  We are reminded in Ephesians NOT to boast.  Our skills, abilities, blessings, anything we might be tempted to boast about, are not through our works but a gift from God.  Yes, I know people also boast about gifts they receive, but that's okay.  God saved us and gave us gifts to glorify Him, not us.  If we share with someone how blessed we are and point to the correct source, Jesus, then we're boasting about how wonderful a God we have.  Wouldn't that be a great way to share your faith and maybe get someone's attention who might otherwise not be interested?

For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God—not by works, so that no one can boast.
