A trend that is all too common in our society is for people to build themselves up by making others feel small. By putting someone else or an entire group down, people can think they are raising their status. I have worked for people like that, and sadly I have in the past worshiped with them. This is NOT the heart of our Lord. He deserves exaltation, yet he reaches down to those at the lowest rungs in the hierarchy of society. He doesn't treat captains of industry or pastors of megachurches differently than a homeless person sleeping under a bridge at night. His love and His strength are available to all. We all need to take the same path through Christ to be redeemed and receive the gift of salvation. Please remember this the next time someone acts as if they are better that you--that's not how God sees you.
