Encouraging Scripture-Using our influence

And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds
Hebrews 10:24 (NIV) from Bible Gateway

Being a Christian isn't all about what we do--it's also about how we can influence others.  Regardless of your line of work or family situation, there are undoubtedly people in your life that you exert some level of influence over, directly or much more subtly.  That can be positive, like when others see you treating someone with love and/or respect, or negative if they see you swearing or screaming at someone.  During Jesus' time on earth, he exerted that type of influence to show people how to live a godly life.  It started with love, which manifested itself into good deeds.  That's his example and the one He wants us to set for others.  You can give give verbal encouragement, but nothing will spur someone toward loving behavior than to show love yourself.  There is no way to have a greater influence on the world than to lead others toward more godly actions, even if it's one person at a time.
