Encouraging Scripture-Come to serve, not be served

Did you see the Seinfeld episode where George decided to do everything the opposite of what his instincts told him to do? People suddenly thought he was brilliant!  It seems like Jesus took that approach; think of how man would act then do the opposite.  That explains today's scripture where we must act as a servant to be great.  That would be an oxymoron in the natural, but that's how Jesus Himself lived his life, and suffered His death.  We attain the greatest stature in heaven when we lower ourselves on earth to act as a humble servant, one willing to do anything to help our fellow man and glorify our Lord in the process.

whoever wants to become great among you must be your servant, and whoever wants to be first must be slave of all.  For even the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many.”
Mark 10:43b-45 (NIV) from Bible Gateway
