Encouraging Scripture-Working through doubt

It's okay to doubt.  I've sat through sermons where the preacher was screaming at us about how sinful doubt is, but Jesus didn't cast anyone away for doubting.  He did miracles during his earthly ministry to help us overcome that doubt, and He still does them today through the Holy Spirit.  It's not just miracles, though.  It's through His word, through all of the little things He blesses us with during the normal course of the day.  Doubt can also help us grow in Him, to gain a better understanding of how God works and who He really is.  Go ahead and doubt, but lean into the Lord so He can help you move beyond it.

When the spirit saw Jesus, it immediately threw the boy into a convulsion. He fell to the ground and rolled around, foaming at the mouth. Jesus asked the boy's father, "How long has he been like this?"
"From childhood," he answered. "It has often thrown him into fire or water to kill him. But if you can do anything, take pity on us and help us."  " 'If you can'?" said Jesus. "Everything is possible for him who believes." Immediately the boy's father exclaimed, "I do believe; help me overcome my unbelief!"
