Encouraging Scripture-Who are we representing

When you're, at an event for your job, your school, or your church, you tend to be on your best behavior, don't you?  In these situations, you're conscious of representing something larger than yourself.  If you do something inappropriate, it reflects poorly not only on you but on the organization you represent.  We'd be a lot better off if we remembered that as we live our lives, we represent God.  Sometimes the only part of God someone will see is His reflection in us.  If we claim to walk with the Lord, we need to remember that we are His earthly representatives and live our lives accordingly so we don't give Him a bad name like so many other people have already done in today's society.

Each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others, as faithful stewards of God’s grace in its various forms. If anyone speaks, they should do it as one who speaks the very words of God. If anyone serves, they should do so with the strength God provides, so that in all things God may be praised through Jesus Christ. To him be the glory and the power for ever and ever. Amen.
